Touchet School District Levy Information
A LETTER OF THANKS TO OUR COMMUNITY

The Touchet School District would like to thank our community for the strong support shown in the February 9 School Levy Election. Touchet has had a proud tradition of supporting their local school district needs. The community believed it was important that they continue this investment in our students’ future.

We appreciate, so much, the willingness of parents, students and community members to get involved in an effort to maintain financial support for our schools.

We’re happy, it is quite a statement that the public is willing to tax themselves in this environment. It sends a powerful message to the Legislature that the public values public education highly and further makes the claim that strong schools build strong communities.

Our levy committee members went to a deeper level than before. We are very, very happy with the results and want to personally thank Wendi Kregger and her committee members for all of their efforts, thanks again for your support!

As the district superintendent and father of a Touchet graduate, I am very appreciative of the support of this community. The school board and school staff echoes its appreciation of the legacy of quality education in Touchet and knows how important it is to maintain these standards.

Again, I personally wanted to thank each and everyone who worked hard and supported the levy even with the struggles out there and they were certainly mindful of that, but they knew, as a district, we are committed to working to continue to improve and strengthen educational opportunities for students in our community.

Respectfully,

Dan McDonald, Supt.

School is up and running
Dear Parents and Guardians,

Well, school is up and running. I hope that your child/children are excited about their new classrooms and the new friends they made last week.  As with all new starts to a school year, there will be a period of adjustment for you and your children to make organizing your morning and after school routines to fit in with what is happening at school.

Our box holder will be out later on this week and it will hold some insightful information that will alert you to the events that will be occurring throughout September and October.

During the next couple of weeks you can expect that school will be in full-swing with normal full-day school hours occurring. Regular bus and student sports activity schedules will be conducted during those days as well.

If normal school operation should change, the District will make sure parents are notified and an announcement will be made through the regular communication channels the district uses (notes home, newspaper articles, and its website) so you will have prior knowledge with which to make needed arrangements.

Touchet Football Website

Hello Indian Football Fans:

The first football game of the 2009 season is less than a week away and I thought this would be a good time to let everyone know that I have put together a site that will be the new online home of Touchet Football. If you go to the Touchet website and then hit the Sports link it will bring up the link to our new football site. Here is the direct link to the site.

Windows Live
Not only is the new web mail system pretty exciting, but since it is a part of the Windows Live "experience" it comes with a lot of new features that we haven't had here at the school before. The Photo Albums are very easy to use and the slide shows are quite stunning. After you have made a calendar, be sure to check out how to share it. SkyDrive is an amazing file storage that you can access from anywhere you are connected to the Internet, think of it as your L:\ drive on the web. Be sure to keep up with what's going on in the Spaces, too. And I am sure that we can find many uses for Groups in collaborative, educational ways.
